Another week has gone by...

Another day another dollar...

Work still stressful. Financial Institutions are being fussy at the moment. We still have not been able to come up with an amount that we can borrow that we are happy with. So we still haven't put in any offers yet. I am trying really hard to be patient but it is extremely hard.

Finally got some photos developed however the camera didn't capture half of them as the battery was low - that was a waste. Here are some photos that did work out though.

Footprints left behind from the fire fighters the night before. The only evidence that someone was there to protect us from the fire.

Bushfire near our house.

The hillside after the fire went through it.

Rainbow after rains in the distance.

Sunset.

If you check out my stumble upon (top RHS of blog webpage) and click on my "Pages I like" you can check out other people's websites and their photos. They are really cool - well at least I think so anyway! If you know of any good websites or blogs let me know and and I can add them as links on my blog or in stumble upon.

Have a nice Sunday!

OMG Where has the time gone!!!

Soooo sooorrry guys!

I have been so run off my feet. I have finished my 4th week at work. In that time I have done many and varied things - learning as I went. Still got a long way to go. Just when I thought I was getting a handle on everything I find out that my boss is leaving - AAAAAHHHH!!! I started work without anyone showing me what my job entailed. Sifting through all the paperwork in the office and reading all the files on the computer. Realising that much work would be needed to put everything in some sort of order that I could handle. Just when the momentum is building and I think I am making some headway, I get the shock of my life finding out that my boss is leaving! No he can't do that - not yet - couldn't he wait a couple more months??? I am still learning and now I have to learn his job too!! OK I was in shock for a day. Then decided that I would have to just take small steps. I generally knew what his job entailed but not the exact specifics. I thought that I would pick that up AFTER I learnt my job! He knew so much - or at least that is how I see it at the moment - being so new in the job still! Anyway will find out more on Monday.

On another topic...

House hunting

Luckily where we live is a smallish outback town so checking out houses can be done in two weekends - or at least driving past them! I don't know about prices where you live but the prices of houses the last 2 years has just been increasing here - starting to get to the ridiculous if you ask me!
We have almost finished finalising all the paperwork required by the financial institutes so we know how much we can borrow. Hopefully by the end of the week we should know then we can start putting in offers. We have found a house we would like to put in an offer for but need to know where we stand first so we can effectively negogiate a price that we can afford. Will keep you informed - as soon as we know of course!

In the meantime the real estate agents keep trying to show this house to prospective buyers. It is very stressful each morning trying to tidy the house up as I sometimes leave before the kids so am unsure as to the condition of the house when they leave. Hubby says I shouldn't worry. Easier said than done.

Mothers' Day

Today is Mothers' Day - Happy Mothers' Day to everyone out there who is a mother! My daughter just made me breakfast - french toast with a cup of tea - very nice. It really hit the spot. Son still asleep. It just dawned on Hubby that it is Mothers' Day - after I finished eating the lovely breakfast. "Oh, is it Mothers' Day? - that is why (daughter) made you breakfast! Happy Mothers' Day!"(with a grin on his face) - Who said men were slow!!! "Got any presents yet?" (probably waiting on the chocolates I bet!) Anyway so far so good.

We had rain yesterday so I decided to put the clothes in the clothes drier - I am pretty sure that the heater part has died as after 2 hours the clothes were warm but still wet!!! The clothes drier was a wedding present given over 15, no nearly 16 years ago - time flies doesn't it! It has lasted very well. I have only changed the ball bearings and the fan belt in its time. Hopefully it won't cost much to replace the heater part. Might need to buy a new one - not a good time now though.

Wedding anniversary next week - have to start thinking what to do, what to give. The local theatre group is having a performance this weekend - I wonder if it will still be on next weekend??? They usually supply a meal with it for about $30 - $35 per person - which I think is great value for your money.

CSIRO Science on Saturdays

Anyone who has young kids (7- 14 yrs) should look into this. Currently CSIRO is holding 6 sessions on Saturdays. It only costs $7 each Saturday for 2 hours and it gives kids a chance to do simple science investigations. Yesterday my daughter did Food Chemistry - came home with her own sherbert!!! Next week is Science in Space. She is going to try and get some of her friends to go - so she obviously liked it. This is being run all over Queensland so check out their website and see if there are any spaces left for your kids at a venue near you.

My present.....

Son finally woke up. Got my present - Hubby misses out - no chocs! I got a "Rocket Blender"!!!!! Have been eyeing it out for a couple of years now. Started off being on one of those TV commercial ad programs then I saw it in the Homecare Catalogues then saw it advertised on Crazy Clark sales brochures but none ended up coming this way. Would love to know how my kids (and or Hubby) got one.

This is ssssoooo great - Thanks kids (and Hubby). I got this photo from a European company website but the items are identical. All I need now is buy all that yummy fruit and veggies then I will have an identical picture here right at home! (HAHAHA) This is so cool!

My Garden

Everything is still growing fairly well. Temperatures are still in the mid 30's so still have to water them quite regularly still. The lawn went brown - kept waiting for rain - finally got some yesterday so that will bring the green colour back. I am in a weird mood because I want to look after my plants and the garden but I don't feel like going and buying more mulch - which it really needs again as the house is for sale and NOW it seems like a waste of money especially when we have to save every cent at the moment to help us buy our own home. Hubby has been telling me for years but gardening is my hobby.
I planted some oleander trees in the front garden about 3 or 4 months ago and have noticed some interesting looking catepillars on them. Their pupae is a metallic silver colour and the butterflies are like dalmatians - Black and white spotted. Have taken pictures of them so when the film gets developed will show you.

My hobbies

Jewellery making is another hobby of mine at the moment. Made another batch and took them down to the local shop to sell yesterday. I forgot to take photos of them so I can show you. I promise I will do that with the next batch. I have been trying different techniques and more complicated patterns. I think I am getting better at it. My stuff is selling so someone likes them!

Cheers
