Was wondering what I was going to do today..... I am about to move house in 4 weeks and know what I should be doing but don't want to. My family has already moved to the new town leaving me and my dog home alone to organise the removalists, cleaners, tradespeople etc. I have one more week left at work, then two weeks before the removalists come

and then one week cleaning before beginning the drive down to the new town. I have moved many times before but this one is the most depressing as I am seriously lacking motivation. I have heaps of lists of things to do and the momentum has started but needs to pick up the pace. I have gained 5 kgs in the last month from all the stress which doesn't help. It is official I am the heaviest I have ever been in my life

- even heavier than when I was pregnant!
Okay I suppose I better update everyone as to what has been happening to me since Oct 07. Where do I start? Dec 07 I walked out of my job totally stressed to the max and couldn't stop shaking for a couple of days as I have never done that before and now would rather try and forget about that job ever existing! Except for the fact that I made a couple of good friends that is all I want to remember about it. Went grocery shopping the next day as I hadn't been for almost two months and had gotten into the habit of just buying takeaway as I didn't have any energy left at the end of the day to cook - on the assumption there was something in the house to cook!!!!
Anyway the following day I retyped/updated my resume and went to the public library to photocopy it so that I could drop it off at various employment agencies. Whilst I was waiting to use the machine I read the local paper. There were a couple of job vacancies advertised that I thought might be worthwhile applying so I photocopied that page out of the newspaper. I had ordered a new camera which was supposed to be arriving that day so I thought I would pop into the store and just see if it was in yet. Whilst I was waiting I got to talking to the salesperson about cameras in general and he asked what work I was currently doing (for which I just said that I was bludging at the moment as I had none). Anyway about an hour and half later I got my camera but also got a job as a photo lab assistant. I started the next day!
Almost a year later, even though I loved the job, we needed more money so I started applying for other jobs. I started my new job in Nov 08 as an admin officer at the local TAFE college. My hushand was also trying to get a better job at the same time which unfortunately resulted in him accepting ( it is a really good job and heaps better money) it and he moved to the new town with the kids in the new year. The plan was for me to stay behind and organise moving our household items and preparing the house so that it would become a rental. You know all those little things that you put up with but never get around to fixing whilst your living in the place!
So now in four weeks I will be driving out of this town and moving to the next... such is the life of a miner's wife!!!!!
On a brighter note my son is now off to Uni. He did extremely well at school and we are all very proud of him. It is now time for him to spread his wings and fly. Hopefully we have given him a broad enough and solid enough base from which he can use those skills, attributes and attitudes to start living his own life and creating his own experiences. He will be going to live in the big smoke so we will be taking a back seat to his life now. Hopefully he will still ring us if he needs us. Being away from him for the last month has eased me into letting him go, although it hasn't stopped me from thinking about him and hoping that he will be okay.
Been taking heaps of photos with my now a year old camera. It is a Fuji Finepix S5700 digital camera. I love it. Heaps of different menu items so am always adjusting and playing - taking heaps of photos of the same thing but with different settings testing out which is best for what type of environment. Still haven't been able to get a good shot of lightning strikes yet.
For Christmas I received a tripod for my camera and have been testing it out heaps. My arms don't get tired anymore! I will be posting various photos over the next coming weeks.
Oh yes just before I go I just remembered that I sold two of my photos last Sept in the local art exhibition - that was a great morale booster for me!
Cheers for now
Promise to be back soon,
T
